This state-of-the art facility incorporates 10 spacious driving bays, an abundance of targets and top quality range balls. The Athy Driving Range is open for 12 hours per day Monday-Sunday (10am-10pm) ensuring that there is always time for you to pop in and hit a basket of balls.
There are plenty of options available from the €2 Warm-Up Basket right up to the €8 Super Jumbo Token. Due to its proximity to Athy Golf Clubs 1st Tee, the €2 warm-up basket is ideal for members & guests to loosen up before they play - research has shown that warming-up before you play can have a beneficial effect on your performance.
Athy Driving Range has all the ancillary facilities that you come to expect in a top-class range. In addition, after daylight hours, our high-powered lighting system will illuminate the balls of even the longest hitter.
The range is located adjacent to Athy Golf Club where a cup of coffee, a meal or drinks are always available.
As part of our plans to develop the facilities we offer to Members and Visitors alike we decided in March 2007 to convert our Committee Room into a Golf Shop. Our Caterer at the time, Jonathan Dick was awarded the first contract to run this shop and we were very pleased at the outcome.
The daily running of the shop was left to one of his staff, Audrone. When Jonathan moved towards the end of 2009 we were very pleased that she was offered the golf shop franchise at the club.
Audrone sources her stock from many suppliers, in particular our good friend Aidan Colgan of Colgan Sports.
We in the club have the added bonus in that Audrone looks after the administration of our Men’s Club and Open Competitions, she will handle your “time sheet” calls and she will take your entry on the day of the competitions.
Audrone is a great asset to us at the club and all of us are assured of a friendly greeting as she takes our entry fees.
As she develops her business she will continue to extend the range of golf clothing and accessories for sale in the shop and of course you can also purchase drinks and snacks before your round – tea/coffee and sandwiches are also available. This service is particularly useful if you are an early morning golfer.
Gift Vouchers are also available in the Golf Shop and of course you can pre order more expensive items if you pay an agreed deposit to Audrone.
In the normal course of events Green Fees are paid in the bar. However you can also pay Green Fees in the golf shop if you are going out for a game before bar opening hours.
It is also good to have Audrone in the shop on those days when we are wondering if frost snow or fog is around and we are unsure if the course is open. We can contact her on these days at either of the phone numbers shown below.
Shop Opening Hours from March 1st to October 31st are as follows:
Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri: 8 am to 4 pm
Tue, Sat & Sun: 7 am to 5 pm.
All other times are by arrangement only.
Shop Opening Hours from November 1st to February 28th are as follows:
Competition days to facilitate the time sheets and on other days as required.
So whether you are a member, a visitor in any of our Open Events we invite you to visit the shop. Audrone would also encourage visiting Societies or Classics to buy some or all of your prizes from her.
She can be contacted as follows:

Left, you can see a few recent photographs of Audrone and her shop and once more we would encourage you to support the club by supporting the Golf Shop. We are very happy to see her behind the desk in the shop because we know she is a great asset to us at the club and she provides a great service to members and visitors alike.

Athy Golf Club was formed in 1906 as a nine hole course and was extended to 18 holes in 1993. The course had a Par of 71 and it extended to 6,400 yards from the medal tees.
The Pre-Building Period
Like many of the older Golf Clubs in Ireland, a galvanized cabin type pavilion served the needs of our club for over sixty years. Have a look at the picture above taken in 1937 to see what we mean by the galvanized structure.
The Club House
We welcome you all to our clubhouse - opened in June 2003 and whether you are a member of the club or a visitor we hope you enjoy the facilities at your disposal.
Please rest assured of a friendly and efficient service at all times.
The Office
Kathleen Gray looks after our office which is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Wednesday. Kathleen can be contacted by phone 059 8631729 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
The Bar
Our welcoming bar area is looked after by Kieran Curry and the bar/restaurant staff will be delighted to help you enjoy your clubhouse experience.
The Restaurant
Sean Hicks will be looking after you in the food department, Head Chef since Feb 2010. Sean has extensive experience in the trade having served in many well known top class hotels and restaurants. We are confident that Sean will serve your culinary needs in our bright and welcoming clubhouse.
To avoid disappointment - please check closing times for bar and restaurant in the clubhouse before you go out golfing or before you come out to enjoy a drink or meal.
Sean, ably assisted by Albert Caffrey, Noel Leonard and John Moylan were busy beavers recently painting and decorating in the restaurant. Such is the good will shown by members to their own club that they gave willingly of their time to upgrade our clubhouse facilities.
Thanks are also due to Albert Caffrey of www.franzdesign.com for allowing us decorate the Restaurant with a selection of their Wall Art. All items on display are for sale and Albert tells us that club members can avail of a 10% discount.
Sean is only with us for a few short weeks but already we can see that his offerings are first class and it is super to see the members and visitors alike supporting the restaurant in such numbers. So whether you are a member of the club or any other golf club, living in the area or just passing through and you fancy a nice meal in comfortable and friendly surroundings, please pay us a visit. Sean and his team are in the club from morning to night looking after our Culinary needs and why not call out to sample his wares for lunch some day or call for dinner perhaps. He does an excellent Sunday lunch also as well as an excellent range of snack foods.
Where else can you find such an excellent Chef and you also have the added bonus of looking out on the golf course to watch us all trying to make Birdie on the 18th.
Call the club in advance just to make sure of your table, our number is 059 8631729.
