The Ruby Walsh Pro Am has been raising money for Crumlin Children’s hospital since 2005. This year, in association with its sponsors Simply Workflow and Creane & Creane, the tournament is being held in Athy Golf Club on August 12th.

Teams of four can register as either Corporate (€450) or Private (€300) by contacting Kathleen Gray on 059 863 1729 or

All developments within the hospital are fully funded by charitable donations from the public which is why the target for this year’s tournament is €20,000. It will go towards developing the Children’s Outpatients Department, which sees 80,000 children pass through it each year.
We would love if you could join us on the day in support of this worthy cause.
Athy Golf Club

Congratulations from all at Athy Golf Club go to Fred Darling, who held his nerve to capture Mr Richard Kelly’s Captains Prize. Having slept on the lead all week, Fred kept his cool to hold off his nearest challenger Kealan Bolger who chased him all the way home. On a testing course setup that did not yield too many low scores, Fred’s score of 141 meant that he would hold bragging rights over all comers for the next 12 months.

Congratulations to all the prize winners over the two weekends but particular praise must also go to Eugene O’Toole, winner of the Gross Category, Ivor Hegarty who won the Past Captains Prize, the three Category Winners, Paddy Ennis, Kieran Kelly and Martin Doyle and also to the Ladies Prize winner, Paula O’Flaherty.

For our captain Richie, this event was the pinnacle of many years work on behalf of the club and all of us at Athy Golf Club are very grateful for all the hours he has put in over the years on behalf of, and representing the club. We wish him all the best for the remainder of his year as Captain.

Again, thanks must also go to Roy and his team of greenkeeping staff who had the course in immaculate condition for the two weekends.
